And, another welcome
[edit]Hello, FunFactsAustralia, and welcome to Wikipedia. I'm Mathglot and I've volunteered to be your Wikipedia mentor. I'm here for you whenever you need help with Wikipedia. It's great to have you on board to help create this online encyclopedia.
To help you get started, your homepage has a brief tutorial. If you need some ideas about what kind of things need doing, try the "Suggested edits" module top left on your homepage, or the Task Center.
Help is available: as your Mentor, you can always find me listed in the "Get editing help" module bottom right on your homepage; there are also additional help links there. You can also ask me questions directly on my talk page, or try the Wikipedia:Teahouse to get help designed especially for new users from a team of experienced volunteers. So go ahead and ask questions — we’re here to help! And once again, welcome to Wikipedia! Mathglot (talk) 19:04, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hi Mathglot and thanks for reaching out and offering your assistance. I’ve had a good look around the platform and have done a couple of minor edits on other people’s work. I’ll be sure to let you know if I have any questions, but so far, so good. ~2026-80613 (talk) 20:42, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
- Sounds good. A couple of quick tips on your Draft:DV Safe Phone, because it is not ready for mainspace and will inevitably get a DECLINE:
- The lead (the part above section heading 'History') does not get a section heading of its own; the page name is sufficient; i.e., drop the section heading 'DV Safe Phone'.
- The lead should not have unique information not already present in the body (except for the most basic facts: 'is an org that...', etc.) but rather should be a summary of the body, and should be brief, possibly one sentence or two, depending on the length of the body. (The body is everything from the 'History' header down.
- Nobody cares about financials and reporting, or, more generally, what the company has to say about itself (exception: basic facts: who founded it, what the company logo is, HQ location, etc.). Drop section 'Formal Documentation' entirely. You can keep the ref, maybe, if relevant to the body as a citation, and if not, possibly it could be the germ of an External links section.
- Anything that sounds promotional, like, 'as seen on A Current Affair (aired November 2025)', should be dropped. To be sure, keep the ref right after it citing A Current Affair, but mentioning a TV program in the body just sounds like typical company chest-thumping. So does, 'here's a short list of just some of the partnerships in place'—no way an encyclopedic article would use language like this. This, and anything else like it throughout the article, must be dropped.
- The stuff about 'collection box locations': drop it; bravo for declaring your coi, now think like a WP reader, who wants to read an encyclopedic article about the company, i.e., what *others* say about it, not what the company says about itself. If they want box locations, they will go to the company website, not here.
- All of your citations are WP:BAREURLS; not completely forbidden and better than nothing, but definitely gets minus points when trying to get your draft approved. Fix all of these using one of the approved methods; I recommend using template {{cite web}} for most/all of them. You can copy and fill in this model, and paste it in:
{{cite web |last1= |first1= |date= |title= |website= |publisher= |url= |access-date={{subst:TODAY}} }}
- I would strongly recommend quickly nullifying the 'Submit' status as the draft, as you will just get a decline and have to submit it again, and a previous decline may (but shouldn't) make it harder the second time. You can resubmit after you fix these issues. Cheers, Mathglot (talk) 21:18, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
- That's amazing feedback Mathglot, thank you. I've made all your recommended changes. I appreciate you taking the time to look at this. FunFactsAustralia (talk) 01:49, 5 January 2026 (UTC)
- eeek, I've just had a rejection (they possibly reviewed it before I submitted the changes 25 minutes ago)
- They stated: This article needs to be rewritten (MOS:LAYOUT). Require WP:RS and WP:IS sources for verifiability. Please refer to WP:YFA and WP:BETTER for guidance on drafting an article and to WP:REFB for instructions on formatting references correctly. FunFactsAustralia (talk) 02:22, 5 January 2026 (UTC)
- Unsurprising; predictable. I think they hit some or most of the points I mentioned. Anyway, attend to all the points I mentioned earlier, and then look up all the links they left in the decline (note: a decline is not a reject, in wikispeak) in case I missed something. Your current version is much improved.
- An additional remark: trash the section 'Independent coverage'. The article body is not the place to plead for WP:Notability or make your case. That should be obvious by the sources you include in the article. Five should be enough, as long as at least three of them meet the threshold of WP:SIGCOV; do they? If not, that's something else to attend to. If there is anything in that section that has worthwhile content you want to save, move it somewhere else, or maybe create a section like ==Impact== or something.
- Section Context looks good, but maybe should be body section #1, and be called ==Background== (or possibly, ==Introduction==, depending how you want to frame the content) instead, unless I am missing something.
- Minor: get rid of curly quotes: i.e.,
organisation’s⟶organisation's;“safe phones”⟶"safe phones", (and so on) per MOS:CURLY. - Do you have any questions about the decline comment, and do you know what you have to do, now? Mathglot (talk) 11:18, 7 January 2026 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: DV Safe Phone (January 5)
[edit]
- If you would like to continue working on the submission, go to Draft:DV Safe Phone and click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the window.
- If you do not edit your draft in the next 6 months, it will be considered abandoned and may be deleted.
- If you need any assistance, or have experienced any untoward behavior associated with this submission, you can ask for help at the Articles for creation help desk, on the reviewer's talk page or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help from experienced editors.
- Thanks for taking the time to review this so quickly QEnigma. I was making a stack of changes, as recommended by my mentor about 10 minutes ago, which I think may have addressed a lot of your concerns. Would you mind taking another look and letting me know your thoughts? FunFactsAustralia (talk) 02:23, 5 January 2026 (UTC)
