Mirrors

Thanks for contributing to the article Kazan. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable and attributed to reliable sources. You have recently used citations which copied, or mirrored, material from Wikipedia. This leads to a circular reference and is not acceptable. Most mirrors are clearly labeled as such, but some are in violation of our license and do not provide the correct attribution. Please help by adding alternate sources to the article you edited! Thank you for informing me about this mistake I made Kuru, I am really sorry about this.

I believe that I rushed through finding sources for citations too much, and did not realise that the source was a copy of Wikipedia’s article for the same topic, as I falsely thought it was a primary source.

Hi @Smallangryplanet! Thanks for reviewing my article. Though I am disappointed that my article did not pass review, I guess that is to be expected for my first article.

Admittedly, I did use AI for the base of my content, which I copy edited, added links to other articles, and found new sources. Obviously, it appears that these efforts were insufficient to qualify for a pass.

I will continue working on the article, and I will resubmit it in the future.

Gilesalig, no worries, newer editors often aren't sure what additions need sourcing. Answer in 2025 is "everything that isn't WP:BLUESKY". American English dates

Thanks for your reply. I have read WP:DATE, and it stated that both the British and American format of writing dates is appropriate on Wikipedia, as long as consistency is maintained. Moreover, those rules don’t really apply in user pages, as it is not an article. As I created my own user page, I am allowed to set the tone on how I would like to phrase what I say. Thank you. In addition, I also read Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Spelling, which you provided, and it did not say anything about dates, nor did it mention about the need to default to American English. American English should be sued when appropriate, but British English is also really commonly used in many Wikipedia articles. Again, the rules don’t apply for informal user pages. @Dafootballguy Gileselig is correct: date formatting is just another component of WP:ENGVAR, and there is no requirement to use American civilian dates through Wikipedia.

(Why do I call them civilian dates? The US military uses dmy date order, so it is not uncommon to see dates written as, e.g., "7 December 1941" in am article related to the US military.) —C.Fred (talk) 03:17, 21 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Aleain. I am affiliated with Edgefield Secondary School, but I did all of my edits without being told to, nor was I being paid to edit the article. I am not intending to advertise the school in any manner. I just noticed that the school’s article page lacked sufficient secondary sources to meet the requirements of Wikipedia:Notability, so I added some of my own. I have made sure to not add unsourced or biased content, but I apologise for not disclosing this earlier.

I have personally found several reliable sources that I thought I could add to the article to meet Wikipedia’s notability guidelines, but were there any edits or contributions I made, that were biased, promotional, or subjective in any way?
