You should open a new topic at Talk:July 17 seeking consensus for the change you wish to make to that page, and only reopen a request for third opinion, or other form of dispute resolution if it becomes clear that an agreement cannot be made. Said user refuses to discuss the change, just keeps pointing to the WP:EVENTDOY page, which gives very vague information about what constitutes a noteworthy event. However, I will once again try to engage. JefferyClark (talk) 07:50, 1 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I saw your comment on the other editor's talk page, which is fine, but for editorial disputes such as this, it's generally better to raise the question on the article's talk page and "ping" the other editor using {{ping|Username}} to alert them to the discussion. This keeps the discussion about the article where it is most relevant, and where most editors will be likely to see it. Yet another way is to start the discussion on the talk page without mentioning any specific editor, then go to the editor's talk page and say: hey, I started a discussion about this point we disagree on.
