City timelines
[edit]I noticed you took a huge long list of "stuff that happened here" at Lakeland, Florida, and dumped it into a timeline list article. I occasionally see these "timelines" within city articles and they never seem to improve the main article. I want to start doing dumping them into list articles. Any pushback to these list articles? - Hi Magnolia677. I agree that city timelines are often more useful to readers as stand-alone articles rather than sections, especially for the most populous cities in a region. Editorial pushback, though rare, might challenge notability of events within the timeline. So I'd recommend that you provide a solid reference for each event listed in your timeline-- ideally a scholarly source that explains why some would consider the event to be notable in shaping the city and its history. Obviously, opinions will differ on an event's relative significance. Aim for variety and balance of topics: politics, culture, economics, public health, architecture, nature, science, technology, sports, and so on. Good luck.
