ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:19, 18 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I will revert your revert, as it is destructive and unsourced. The name listed on the English WP is just a claim and refuted by various sources. First two include quotes by the man himself. Refrain from knee-jerk reverts, thanks. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2002/aug/11/newsstory.sport13 https://www.abebooks.com/9782234054783/Capitaine-Desailly-Marcel-2234054788/plp https://www.munzinger.de/register/portrait/biographien/Marcel+Desailly/01/4486 https://www.beinsports.com/fr-fr/articles/ghana-marcel-desailly-en-pole-pour-le-poste-d https://www.programme-tv.net/biographie/89543-desailly-marcel/ https://inisport.com/actualites/football/reconversion-desailly-a-trouve-un-nouveau-point-de-chute/ https://www.starsandstripesfc.com/black-history-month/2023/2/13/23597538/black-history-month-marcel-desailly-france-the-rock-world-cup https://www.gala.fr/stars_et_gotha/marcel_desailly — Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2025-37083-43 (talk) 21:46, 30 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@~2025-37083-43: "destructive and unsourced"? It's referenced by Desailly's own autobiography, which I own a copy of, and it was me who added this to the article. So none of the lectures on "knee-jerk reverts", please. Thanks! Mattythewhite (talk) 21:50, 30 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
First things first: Don’t threaten me. Second things second: I own the autobiography, too. Maybe you should read it. I listed the sources above, you want to »own« the article and POV-push. No issue, this will be futile. Good luck. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2025-37083-43 (talk) 21:57, 30 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@~2025-37083-43: Cool, don't let the door hit you on the way out. Mattythewhite (talk) 22:06, 30 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Technical news

  • Starting on November 4, the IP addresses of logged-out editors are no longer being publicly displayed. Instead, they will have a temporary account associated with their edits.
  • Administrators will now find that Special:MergeHistory is now significantly more flexible about what it can merge. It can now merge sections taken from the middle of the history of the source (rather than only the start) and insert revisions anywhere in the history of the destination page (rather than only the start).
