Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your user page may not meet Wikipedia's user page guidelines. It is intended for basic information about yourself, your interests and goals as they relate to editing Wikipedia, as well as disclosures of conflicts of interest and paid editing. Although a lot of freedom is allowed in personalizing your user page, it is not:
- an encyclopedia article (and should not be styled to look like one)
- a workspace for a draft article
- a personal website, blog, or social media site
- a space for self-promotion or other advertising
- a CV, resumé or lengthy autobiography
The user page guidelines have additional information on what is and what is not considered acceptable content. Please use your user sandbox or the draft article space to practice editing or to create new articles. Thank you. Acroterion (talk) 01:53, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to add promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Acroterion (talk) 18:55, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
- I'm not trying to add promotional material...I'm just trying to add information about a great non profit that made history in the modern day disaster relief era. Mryer777 (talk) 18:57, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
- You're promoting the non-profit. Wikipedia isn't a host for promotion, no matter how worthy. This is an encyclopedia, not social media, and user pages aren't like Facebook pages. If you do that again you will lose editing privileges. Acroterion (talk) 20:29, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
- So how can Compassion International have a wiki page and Amigos Internacionales can't?
- Compassion International Mryer777 (talk) 20:33, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
- As I said, this isn't social media, article subjects must have prior notability. Read WP:NOTE andWP:RS. A subject must have non-trivial coverage in independent media or scholarship to qualify for inclusion. This isn't like Facebook where anybody can "have a page." Conflict of Interest Disclosure — Fourth submission
[edit]I am the Chief Executive Officer of Amigos Internacionales, the subject of Draft:Amigos Internacionales. I have a direct conflict of interest and am disclosing this per Wikipedia's COI policy. I am not a paid editor. I wrote this version of the draft myself, in my own words, drawing on the independent published sources cited in the article. I did not paste AI-generated text into the draft. Every sentence is tied to a specific named source. I am submitting via AfC rather than creating the article directly. ~~~~ Mryer777 (talk) 14:30, 23 April 2026 (UTC)
