Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Gaetano Tranchino, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. See MOS:OVERLINK. CodeTalker (talk) 16:11, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
References
[edit]Hi, thank you for your attempts to add references to articles. However, a reference is supposed to provide evidence of the accuracy of some statement in an article. The reference should follow the statement that it supports. Therefore, it is never correct to add a reference to the beginning of an article, where it does not follow any statement, as you did here and here and here and here and here and here. Also, the reference should be relevant to the statement that it follows. In this edit you added a reference to a table listing the number of goals made by a football player, so the reference should be expected to be related to that. But your reference was to a paper about a completely unrelated topic, the training of oncologists.
Please read WP:REFBEGIN for an introduction to how references are used on Wikipedia. That page has links to other useful pages that will help you to understand how to use references properly. Thank you! CodeTalker (talk) 16:34, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
