Question from Alexworldbuilding (22:28, 28 November 2025)

[edit]

Hello. Just tryin to set up my first Wikipage. I have created a sandbox. The article is not complete yet but I've published for my fellow reachers to view and edit. How do I publish for real when we consider the article ready to go? (we have a lot of citations and links to add, which I know is essential) --Alexworldbuilding (talk) 22:28, 28 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @Alexworldbuilding! I see you might be referring to User:Alexworldbuilding/sandbox? If so, just let me know what title you want, and I can move it to the "draft" namespace for you (a special area of Wikipedia dedicated to creating new articles, and is a good choice because other editors can find your draft here and help out), from where you can utilise the Articles for Creation process to request review from an experienced editor. If it passes, it'll mostly likely be fully published i.e. moved to the "main" space :)
Before proceeding with getting the article into draft space, could you also let me know if you have a Conflict of Interest with the subject of the article? (see WP:COI) randomdude121    11:06, 30 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thanks for your rapid response! Yes, I am referring to User:Alexworldbuilding/sandbox. Although the subject is a research and teaching project called JUNK, I suspect that name may get lost. I'm thinking suggesting "World building Junk", or "Planet JUNK" as wikipage title. I do not think there is COI. I am one of the teachers and originator of the JUNK program, but this article is speaking exclusively about the program, students, and its 'consortium' contributors, and is planned to be co-edited by many of these contributors. Thanks! Alexworldbuilding (talk) 17:04, 2 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Let's go for Planet JUNK Alexworldbuilding (talk) 17:05, 2 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Since you said you are one of the teachers and originator of the JUNK program, I believe there's a COI. Could you utilise Template:User COI on your user page to publicly announce your relation with the article? randomdude121    08:03, 10 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

hello...how many edits do i need to make before i can publish my own article? --Prajna Gupta (talk) 11:08, 13 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, anyone, even anonymous users, can create new articles, but if you'd like to create directly in the mainspace (article-space), you need an autoconfirmed account (user accounts that are at least 4 days old and have made at least 10 edits). randomdude121    06:52, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Juls4328 (05:56, 22 December 2025)

[edit]

Hi! I’d like to ask for some guidance. I want to create a biography article about a church and its pastor. I currently have basic information such as the church’s founding, its location, and the pastor’s role as founder and current pastor.

Do you think this information is enough to create a Wikipedia article, or would I need additional independent sources to meet notability requirements? --Juls4328 (talk) 05:56, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I believe you'll need reliable sources to back up your facts/claims. See Wikipedia:Verifiability for more information. randomdude121    06:54, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Slange72 (06:00, 29 December 2025)

[edit]

I am interested in adding my genealogy to Wiki and would appreciate guidance on how to begin the process.

My current research and sources are located on both FamilySearch and Ancestry. Additionally, I have completed extensive genetic testing. When overlaying my genetic results with ancient Viking migratory patterns, the data confirms my descent from ancient Vikings.

I just completed a documentary about my journey from poverty into one of the most influential professions in the HVAC trade.

Best regards, Steve Lange --Slange72 (talk) 06:00, 29 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

A general guide to beginning article creation is present at WP:YFA. If you're writing about yourself (which looks like the case here), please have a read of Wikipedia:Autobiography as well. randomdude121    07:02, 30 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
