Autopatrolled granted

[edit]

Hi Raydann, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.

Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.

Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Sohom (talk) 11:22, 15 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Noting that based on a offwiki chat with folks, the concerns in this COIVRT ticket that led to [1] still apply and prevent you from having AP until they have been resolved. I have revoked my grant per the same. Sohom (talk) 18:46, 16 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for letting me know. ❯❯❯ Raydann(Talk) 19:45, 18 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New pages patrol January–February 2026 Backlog drive

[edit]
January–February 2026 Backlog Drive | New pages patrol

New Pages Patrol is hosting a one-time, two-month experimental backlog drive aimed at reducing the backlog. This will be a combo drive: both articles and redirects will earn points.

  • The drive will run from 1 January to 28 February 2026.
  • The drive is divided into two phases. Participants may take part in either phase or across both phases, depending on availability.
  • Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled during the drive.
  • Two-month drive-exclusive barnstars will be awarded to eligible participants.
  • Each article review earns 1 point, while each redirect review earns 0.2 points.
  • Streak awards will be granted based on consistently meeting weekly point thresholds.
  • Barnstars will also be awarded for re-reviewing articles previously reviewed by other patrollers during the drive.
  • Interested in participating? Sign up here.

U.N. Series templates being removed from TPNW and NPT articles

[edit]

Good morning, Raydann,
The "United Nations Series" templates of your implementation in the "Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons" (TPNW) and "Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons" (NPT) articles on Christmas, 25 December have been removed by another editor on both articles, so I restored your edits twice with the proper explanation in the summaries that the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (UNODA) who administered the treaties on [2] and [3] is on the panel's "Peace & security" section while the "International Atomic Energy Agency" (IAEA) who supervises the treaty is on its "Technical & regulatory agencies" section already, but he engages the edit wars on both articles with three reverts (3RR) in one day to reject all, then put the same topic on both discussion pages as follows:

Since I have put out of two reverts now while having been quite busy in another Wiki project with no time left by the end of year, and this is not my edit at the first place, would Your Excellency or other members of the project be available to take over to reply in order to restore the UN Series template properly? Thank you and hope you all have a happy holiday and the prosperous new year. --Mickie-Mickie (talk) 20:18, 29 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Dear @Mickie-Mickie, good morning to you too!
Thank you very much for letting me know, and thank you as well for taking a stand on my behalf, I really appreciate it. Yes, I was aware of the reverts of my additions to the TPNW and NPT articles. Honestly, I think there are reasonable arguments on both sides, but I think we should take a look at the bigger picture. I did not mind the reverts too much, as I already had something else in mind.
From the perspective of a general reader who comes to the TPNW or NPT articles, their primary interest is likely to be in topics related to disarmament and non-proliferation, rather than the United Nations as a whole. Even though including the UN Series template is not wrong per se. With that in mind, I had already been considering the creation of a dedicated Disarmament and Non-proliferation series template.
In the end, these template series are there for the ease of navigation for the general reader, and as such, for these two particular articles, a series focused on disarmament and non-proliferation would be more intuitive and useful. When I initially added the UN series template, my thinking was that I would later create a disarmament series temp and replace it accordingly, and that's why I didn't mind the reverts much. In that sense, I viewed the UN series as an interim improvement to the article.
I believe there is no clear right or wrong here. Reasonable arguments can be made both for retention and removal. What matters most is improving navigability and coherence for readers. Both you and NPguy are acting in good faith to improve the encyclopedia, and I would be very happy to resolve this collaboratively.
Courtesy ping to @NPguy. I'd also like to please keep this discussion consolidated here on my talk page, rather than splitting it across two article talk pages. Mickie-Mickie and NPguy, does a Disarmament and Non-proliferation series template make sense for these articles and related ones? And, in the meantime, would it be acceptable to retain the UN series template temporarily, to be replaced by the new series once it is completed? Whether that takes a day, two days, or a short while longer given that it is holiday season and most people are busy irl?
Please let me know your thoughts. I hope we can sort this out smoothly and without any hard feelings on anyone's part.
Thank you very much, and warm wishes to both of you for the holidays and the New Year.
Best regards, ❯❯❯ Raydann(Talk) 22:08, 29 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for the considerate analysis. I surely respect your decision and wish you the best on the dedicated creation of the disarmament and non-proliferation series template. Sincerely, Mickie-Mickie (talk) 22:21, 29 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
