Hi @Peaceray, If you look up the Japan–Korea Treaty of 1910, you will see that the Treaty was "Sealed" on August 22, 1910. However it did not come into effect until August 29, 1910. So Ja Hyung Lee was born 2 days before Korea was annexed bt Japan. Rklingmann (talk) 06:32, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Goal by Ewa Pajor, not Weronika Zawistowska

On 11 April 2023, in the 32nd minute of the Netherlands-Poland match in Rotterdam, Ewa Pajor scored a goal for Poland, extending Weronika Zawistowska's shot, but doing so before the ball crossed the goal line. All Polish sources have verified this information (for example [1] or [2]), as the match was broadcast on TVP Sport ([3]). Erdemski (talk) 23:06, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There was some confusion as to who scored the goal so I requested a copy of the official FIFA match report.

The goal was credited to Weronika Zawistowska.

I have seen sources attributing this goal to both Zawistowska and Pajor. What should one do in this situation? I suppose one should trust one's own eyes. You can watch this situation here (from 31:36), and in the following seconds you will also see several replays. Judge for yourself. In my opinion, after Zawistowska's shot, Pajor touched the ball just before the goal line. Therefore, she should be credited with the goal, even if FIFA, UEFA, PZPN or KNVB indicate otherwise. Maybe it would be worth holding a larger vote on Wikipedia on this matter? Erdemski (talk) 16:52, 23 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately it does not matter what actually happened, it all rests on what the official FIFA match report says. That is true in all sports. It is up to someone to approach FIFA and have the official match report amended and I have no knowledge of that having been done. Both the Netherlands and Poland have accepted the current official FIFA Match results. In my sport I have sometimes made revisions weeks after the event. Would you mind sharing the match report from FIFA? While the Netherlands' FA credits Zawistowska as the goal scorer, the Polish FA credits Pajor (as evidenced above by Erdemski and e.g. here - https://www.laczynaspilka.pl/biblioteka/wideoteka/ewa-pajor), and I'd be more inclined to follow the respective players' FA reporting. Unless you have any official documents contradicting the FIFA Match Report, can you undo the changes you made to Ewa Pajor's Goal counts on the various Wikipedia pages? Other users are already making updates based on the erroneous information. I have contacted the PZPN to update any articles that they missed.
