November thanks

Thank you for support in November! - On St. Cecilia's Day - patron saint of music - I remember a composition by Benjamin Britten, and have a woman on the main page who illustrated songs, with a sense of humour. My places take you to Milan, my first visit to La Scala, and music features our latest choral Abendlob, with English music. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:55, 22 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It's always great to hear from you, my friend. How are you doing?
I've been so very busy lately. (And wow, four years already!) I admit to being ignorant about opera in general, but I've taken up a project to make all of Cather's journalism available online - almost all of which are reviews of various opera she saw, and highly opinionated reviews at that ;). And whenever I read one of her reviews, I smile to myself and wonder, has my friend Gerda listened to this one before? Just the other day, I read one where she mentions Lucia di Lammermoor and thought about you and Marie Litta. :-) Urve (talk) 02:06, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That's lovely, great project, and I smile as well, because that happened to be the first opera I saw (because my mother who had the subscription didn't feel well that day, and I stepped in), with Yvonne Ciannella. I think you would have liked Così fan tutte, with the frozen wedding discussed on WT:DYK, sample here. I am also very busy - click on music and places any time. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:43, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
