Mishandling ISS crews
[edit]Since the start of the US Commercial Crew program the Expeditions have been timed to begin and end with the Soyuz spacecraft. I think we are fundamentally mishandling the crew listings on the List of International Space Station expeditions page. Just as we didn't list the crew of Expedition 8 (Soyuz TMA-3) as part of Expedition 7 and 9, even though their Expedition overlapped, it makes no sense to list the crew of Soyuz MS-26 as part of Expedition 71. Thoughts? RickyCourtney (talk) 20:08, 22 July 2026 (UTC)
- Are we somehow failing to correctly indicate when a new expedition starts? Isn't it when command of the station is transferred? Obviously that doesn't happen immediately upon arrival of the next commander. See: List of commanders of the International Space Station. (— 𝐬𝐝𝐒𝐝𝐬 — - talk) 04:15, 24 July 2026 (UTC)
- The Expeditions are timed with the departures of the Soyuz spacecraft. For example, the upcoming Expedition 75 will begin when Soyuz MS-28 departs. Since the current commander is part of the Soyuz MS-28 crew, he will hand over command a day or so before their departure that triggers the new Expedition.
- Specifically, I am referring to the "handover period" between Soyuz crews. The crew of Soyuz MS-29 arrived about 10 days before MS-28's departure so the teams could transition their work. We have been counting the MS-29 crew as part of Expedition 74, even though they are only overlapping for about a week. In prior handover periods, we did not count incoming crews as part of the outgoing Expedition. RickyCourtney (talk) 21:47, 24 July 2026 (UTC)

Xuntian space telescope article wrong
[edit]The entire article reads like a very subtle advertisement, also there is a table in the “overview” section that I’m fairly sure is straight up misinformation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XuntianKinneticSand (talk) 16:07, 27 August 2026 (UTC)
