বিষু জ্যোতিষ বৰ্ষৰ প্ৰথম দিন। বিষ্ণু আৰু তেওঁৰ কৃষ্ণ অৱতাৰক বিষৰ দিনা পূজা কৰা হয়, কিয়নো এই দেৱতাক সময়ৰ দেৱতা হিচাপে গণ্য কৰা হয়। বিশ্বাস কৰা হয় যে আজিৰ দিনটোতে কৃষ্ণই অসুৰ-ৰজা নৰকাসুৰক বধ কৰিছিল; এই কাৰণে এই উপলক্ষে কৃষ্ণ মূৰ্তিক পূজা কৰা হয়।[20]
