Rosemary Theby (8 d'abril de 1892, Saint Louis – 10 de payares de 1973, Los Angeles) foi una actriz cinematográfica d'Estaos Xuníos, activa principalmente na dómina del cine mudu.

Biografía

Nacida en Saint Louis, Missouri, el so verdaderu nome yera Rose Masing. Formada na Sargent's School de Nueva York, el so debú cinematográficu llegó con una producción de Vitagraph, The Wager^[2], y en 1915 yera una estrella de la compañía Universal Studios.^[3]

Unu de los sos papeles destacaos foi'l de la espía alemana Miss Corintee en The Great Love (1918), qu'interpretó con maña. El filme foi escritu y empobináu por D.W. Griffith.^[4] Ésti foi unu de los habituales papeles de muyer fatal qu'empezó a interpretar dempués de trabayar en comedies de xéneru slapstick.^[2] Theby foi tamién una vampiresa china en Clung, una producción de Fox Film dirixida por Emmett Flynn.^[5] A partir d'entós empezó a interpretar personaxes femeninos de mayor seriedá.^[2]

Theby solamente actuó nel cine. Tornó una ufierta p'acompañar a Chauncey Olcott nel teatru con un sueldu de 85 dólares selmanales, pos nesa dómina ganaba 125 a la selmana por actuar nel cine.
