প্রোগ্রেসিভ রক (সংক্ষেপে: প্রোগ; প্রায়শই আর্ট রক, ক্লাসিক্যাল রক বা সিম্ফনিক রক) রক সঙ্গীতের[৭] একটি উপধারা যা ১৯৬০ দশকের মাঝামাঝি সময়ে যুক্তরাজ্য ও যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে বিস্তৃতি লাভ করে। প্রাথমিকভাবে "প্রোগ্রেসিভ পপ" নামে অভিহিত, এই সঙ্গীত শৈলী মূলত সাইকেডেলিক ব্যান্ডগুলির বহিঃপ্রকাশ, যারা যন্ত্রসঙ্গীত ও রচনামূলক কৌশলের পক্ষে আদর্শ পপ ঐতিহ্যকে পরিত্যাগ করার মাধ্যমে অবিচ্ছিন্নভাবে জ্যাজ, লোককলা বা শাস্ত্রীয় সঙ্গীতের সঙ্গে যুক্ত ছিল। অতিরিক্ত উপাদানসমূহের মধ্যে রয়েছেে এর "প্রোগ্রেসিভ" ("প্রগতিশীল") স্তর: কাব্যিক গানের কথা, নতুন শব্দের জন্য প্রযুক্তির বহুরূপী ব্যবহার, "শিল্প" আচরণকৃত সঙ্গীত, এবং স্টুডিওর চেয়ে বরং মঞ্চই বাদ্যযন্ত্র কার্যকলাপের কেন্দ্রবিন্দু হয়ে ওঠে, যা প্রায়শই নাচার চাইতে মূলত শ্রবণের উদ্দেশ্যেই সঙ্গীত উৎপাদন করে থাকে।
