শম্ভল রাজ্য

এই সংস্কৃত নামটি উত্তর হিন্দু পুরাণের মধ্যে উল্লিখিত একটি গ্রামের নাম থেকে নেওয়া হয়েছে, সম্ভবত এর মাধ্যমে উত্তর প্রদেশের শম্ভল গ্রামের কথা উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে। স্থানটির পৌরাণিক প্রাসঙ্গিকতা বিষ্ণু পুরাণের ভবিষ্যদ্বাণী (৪.২৪) দ্বারা উদ্ভূত যা অনুসারে শম্ভল কল্কির জন্মস্থান হবে, বিষ্ণুর চূড়ান্ত অবতার, যিনি একটি নতুন যুগের সূচনা করবেন (সত্যযুগ),[১][২] পাশাপাশি এটি হবে অন্তিম বুদ্ধ মৈত্রেয়র শাসনাধীন অঞ্চল।[৩][৪]

তিব্বতি বৌদ্ধ রীতিতে, শম্ভল (সংস্কৃত: शम्भल Śambhala,[৫] শম্বল বা শম্বল্ল; তিব্বতি: བདེ་འབྱུང, ওয়াইলি: Bde'byung; চীনা: 香巴拉; ফিনিন: Xiāngbālā) হল একটি পৌরাণিক রাজ্য। কালচক্র তন্ত্রে শম্ভলের উল্লেখ রয়েছে।[৬][৭] বন শাস্ত্রগুলি তাগজিগ ওলমো লুং রিং নামে এর অতি সমতূল্য একটি ভূমির কথা বলে।[৮]
