Percival Lowell

Percival Lawrence Lowell (13. mart 1855. – 12. novembar 1916.) bio je američki biznismen, književnik, matematičar, i astronom koji je podgrijao razmišljanje o tome da postoje kanali na Marsu. On je osnovao Lowell opservatoriju u Flagstaffu, Arizona, i oblikovao početne napore koji su vodili otkriću Plutona 14 godina nakon njegove smrti.

Percival Lowell je bio član bogate Bostonske, Massachusetts, porodice Lowell. Rođen je u  Cambridgeu 13. marta 1855,^[1] i brat je Abbott Lawrence Lowella i Amy Lowell.^[1][2]
