Urdd o adar na fedrant hedfan yw'r Cariamiformes (neu weithiau Cariamae). Mae'r urdd hon wedi bodoli ers dros 60 miliwn o flynyddoedd. Mae'n cynnwys y teulu Cariamidae (seriemas) sy'n fyw heddiw a theuluoedd darfodedig e.e. Phorusrhacidae, Bathornithidae, Idiornithidae a Ameghinornithidae.

Ystyriwyd y grwp hwn yn is-urdd o'r Gruiformes ar un cyfnod, ond mae astudiaethau o'u siap a'u geneteg yn dangos eu bod yn perthyn i grwp hollol wahanol - yr Australaves,^[3] grwp sy'n cynnwys: Falconidae, Psittaciformes a Passeriformes, ac mae rhywogaethau o'r teuluoedd hyn yn fyw heddiw.^[4]

Atgyfnerthwyd y canfyddiad hwn yn 2014.^[5] Roedd yr astudiaeth yn dangos fod y Cariamiformes yn hynafiaid i'r Australaves, a'r hebogiaid wedyn.
