Η Προεδρία του Τζορτζ Ουόκερ Μπους (αγγλικά: The Presidency of George W. Bush), διήρκεσε από τις 20 Ιανουαρίου 2001 έως τις 20 Ιανουαρίου 2009. Ο Τζορτζ Ο. Μπους, υπηρέτησε ως 43ος Πρόεδρος των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών, και υπηρέτησε για δύο συνεχόμενες θητείες.^[1]

O Τζορτζ Ο. Μπους, είναι Ρεπουμπλικανός πολιτικός από την πολιτεία του Τέξας. Είναι γιος του 41ου Προέδρου των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών (1989–1993) Τζορτζ Χ.Ο. Μπους. Πριν αναλάβει την προεδρία των ΗΠΑ, ο Τζορτζ Ο. Μπους, υπηρέτησε ως 46ος Κυβερνήτης του Τέξας (1995–2000).^[2] Εξελέγη 43ος Πρόεδρος των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών, μετά από την πολύ οριακή νίκη του στις προεδρικές εκλογές των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών του 2000, ενάντια στον τότε Δημοκρατικό Αντιπρόεδρο Αλ Γκορ. Συνυποψήφιός του και υποψήφιος για την αντιπροεδρία, ήταν ο πρώην Υπουργός Άμυνας, πρώην βουλευτής και πρώην Προσωπάρχης του Λευκού Οίκου, Ντικ Τσέινι.^[3]

Στις προεδρικές εκλογές των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών του 2000, ο Ρεπουμπλικανός Τζορτζ Ο. Μπους από το Τέξας, κατάφερε να κερδίσει με οριακή νίκη τον Δημοκρατικό ανθυποψήφιό του, και απερχόμενο Αντιπρόεδρο των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών Αλ Γκορ από το Τενεσί, λαμβάνοντας 271 από τις 538 εκλεκτορικούς ψήφους, λαμβάνοντας 47,9% της λαϊκής ψήφου, έναντι 48,4% της λαϊκής ψήφου και 267 εκλεκτορικών ψήφων του Γκορ. Έτσι ο Μπους, έχασε την πλειοψηφία της λαϊκής ψήφου σε ομοσπονδιακό επίπεδο, και κέρδισε οριακά το εκλεκτορικό κολλέγιο. Στη πραγματικότητα, η πολιτεία που έδωσε την νίκη στον Τζορτζ Ο. Μπους, ήταν η Φλόριντα, όπου τότε διέθετε 25 εκλέκτορες, κερδίζοντας ύστερα από πολλές δικαστικές διαμάχες, με περιθώριο μόλις 537 ψήφων, λαμβάνοντας έτσι τους 25 εκλέκτορες, και κερδίζοντας την προεδρία των ΗΠΑ.^[4][5]

Ο Μπους, επανεξελέγη για δεύτερη συνεχόμενη θητεία πρόεδρος, στις προεδρικές εκλογές των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών του 2004, αφού κατάφερε να κερδίσει τον Δημοκρατικό προεδρικό υποψήφιο Γερουσιαστή Τζον Κέρρι από την Μασαχουσέτη, λαμβάνοντας 286 από τις 538 εκλεκτορικές ψήφους, και το 50,7% της λαϊκής ψήφου, έναντι 48,3% της λαϊκής ψήφου, και 251 εκλεκτορικών ψήφων του Κέρρι.^[6]

Η προεδρία του Τζορτζ Ο. Μπους, ξεκίνησε το Σάββατο, 20 Ιανουαρίου 2001 στις 12:00 το μεσημέρι ύστερα από την ορκωμοσία του, ως 43ος Πρόεδρος των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών, και έληξε την Τρίτη, 20 Ιανουαρίου 2009 στις 12:00 το μεσημέρι, με την ορκωμοσία του Δημοκρατικού Μπαράκ Ομπάμα, ως 44ου Προέδρου των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών.

• Οι τρομοκρατικές επιθέσεις της 11ης Σεπτεμβρίου 2001, από Ιρακινούς τρομοκράτες, στη Νέα Υόρκη (δίδυμους πύργους) και στην Ουάσινγκτον (Πεντάγωνο), καθώς και σε ένα αεροπλάνο που πιθανόν στόχευε τον Λευκό Οίκο ή το Καπιτώλιο, και κατέπεσε στη δυτική Πενσυλβάνια. Συνολικά σκοτώθηκαν 2.977 άνθρωποι. Ήταν η πιο θανατηφόρα τρομοκρατική επίθεση στην ανθρώπινη ιστορία, καθώς και η απαρχή για τον «Πόλεμο κατά της Τρομοκρατίας».
