Jersey es el debut extended play (EP) de la cantante y compositora estadounidense Bella Thorne, fija para ser lanzado el 11 de noviembre de 2014 en Hollywood Records.
El 15 de octubre de 2014, Thorne reveló que su álbum debut fue cancelado como ella "sentía que fuera creció algunas de las canciones" y ella en lugar lanzará un EP, titulado Jersey, el 17 de noviembre. En una entrevista con Access Hollywood, ella promovió la EP como muy feminista.
El 23 de octubre, Thorne asistió a la Academia de baile Aspire Pacific donde anunció una canción del EP, titulado "One More Night". La semana siguiente, Thorne ha anunciado la lista de pistas oficial junto con un avance de "Paperwight" y Adelantos de posibles ilustraciones del álbum.
El 28 de octubre, Thorne publicó una foto en su página de Facebook de lo que es, posiblemente, un detrás de escena de su sesión de fotos para la portada del álbum que incluía la lista oficial de canciones para el EP.
El EP estuvo disponible por años solamente en los Estados Unidos, recien en 2021 fue liberado en las plataformas mundialmente.
Bullicio dio una opinión positiva de la canción del EP "One More Night", diciendo que "Sólo podría ser la mejor cantante adolescente aún:. Based On Me debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 with 149,000 album-equivalent units, including 87,000 pure album sales in its first week. Its became Hope's first US number-one album and fourth top 5 debut. In its second week, the album dropped to number four on the chart, earning an additional 65,000 units. In its third week, the album dropped to number five on the chart, earning 55,000 units. In Its fourth week the album dropped to number eight with 35,000 units. Based On Me became Hope's longest album running in the top 10 of the chart ever. In September 2020 the album was certified Platinum by the RIAA selling over 1 million units in the United States and became Hope's fastest album to do so. In March 2021 the album went to the top 10 of the chart with 28,000 units following its winning at the 63rd Grammy Awards for Best Pop Vocal Album. After the release of "Based On Me: The Complete Edition" and Based On Me vinyl edition on May 14, 2021, the album went back to the top 10 of the US Billboard 200 for a sixth week at number three moving 60,000 units and topped the Vinyl Albums Chart the same week with the second highest debut in 2021 with 29,000 units. The album remained in the top 10 during the following 4 weeks consecutively charting during 10 non-consecutive weeks in the top 10, becoming the highest re-peak on the chart in 2021 and Hope's longest running on the chart as well.
It additionally debuted atop the Canadian Albums Chart with one of the highest debuts on the chart in 2020 selling 22,000 units sold in its first week. In UK Albums Chart debuted at number eight becoming Jake's first top 10 album there and it was certified Silver later in 2020 having sold over 60,000 copies in the country. The album also topped the Norway Albums Chart with the highest sales for a single week on the Norwegian chart in 2021. Based On Me charted in the top 10 of 15 countries overall.
According to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), Based On Me was the 9th best selling album of 2020 globally.
