Candi Staton, jaiotzaz Canzetta Maria Staton (Hanceville, Alabama, AEB, 1940ko martxoaren 13a) estatubatuar gospel, soul eta disko musikako kantautorea da.^[1]

Ibilbidea

Statonek Ipar Amerikan aintzatespen handia izan zuen Tammy Wynetteren "Stand By Your Man" abestiaren 1970eko bertsioagatik eta 1976ko "Young Hearts Run Free" soilagatik. Arrakasta izan zuen Europan 1986ko "You Got the Love" soilagatik, The Source bikotearekin lankidetzan. Staton Musika Kristauaren Famaren Aretoan sartu zen eta Grammy sarietarako lau izendapen lortu zituen.^[2]

Bizitza pertsonala

Staton sei aldiz egon zen ezkonduta eta bost seme-alaba izan zituen.^[3] 2018ko urriaren 30ean, kantariak esan zuen bularreko minbizia diagnostikatu ziotela.^[4][5]
