این پروتئین اثرات محافظتکننده در برابر خزان یاختهای سلولهای کبدی دارد و بازسازی سلولهای کبدی را از طریق کمک به حفظ استحکام و یکپارچگی میتوکندریها بهبود میبخشد.[۸]
پروتئینِ Lyn همچنین یکی از تنظیمکنندههای سیگنالی مهم برای سرکوب و مهار تمایزِ سلولی وابسته به استروژن در استئوکلاستهای انسان است.[۹]
