ویلیام استوکس (انگلیسی: William Stokes؛ ‏ ۱ اکتبر ۱۸۰۴ – ۱۰ ژانویه ۱۸۷۸) پزشک اهل ایرلند بود که امروزه نامش به‌واسطهٔ تنفس شین–استوکس و سندرم استوکس-آدامز در یادها مانده است. او نویسندهٔ یکی از نخستین رساله‌های پزشکی دربارهٔ استفاده از گوشی پزشکی در تشخیص بیماری‌های قلب و عروق بود.

وی در سال ۱۸۵۸ عضو فرهنگستان علوم پادشاهی سوئد و در سال ۱۸۶۱ همکار انجمن سلطنتی شد.^[۱] وی مابین سال‌های ۱۸۷۴ تا ۱۸۷۶ رئیس فرهنگستان سلطنتی ایرلند بود.^[۲]
