گیرنده ۴ سروتونین (انگلیسی: 5-HT4 receptor) یک پروتئین است که در انسان توسط ژن «HTR4» کُدگذاری می‌شود.^[۴]^[۵]

عملکرد

این پروتئین عضوی از خانوادهٔ بزرگ گیرنده‌های سروتونین است که در واقع نوعی گیرنده جفت‌شونده با پروتئین جی هستند و پس از اتصال به سروتونین، تولید آدنوزین مونوفسفات حلقه‌ای را تحریک می‌کنند.

جایگاه

این گیرنده در لوله گوارش، مثانه، قلب، غده فوق کلیوی و دستگاه عصبی مرکزی یافت می‌شود.^[۶] در مغز، این گیرنده در پوتامن، هسته دم‌دار، هستهٔ آکومبنس، گلوبوس پالیدوس، توده سیاه و به میزان کمتری در نوقشر، هسته رافه، هستهٔ پونز و برخی قسمت‌های تالاموس یافت می‌شود. این گیرنده در مخچه موجود نیست.^[۷]

داروهای سیزاپراید، تگاسرود، متوکلوپرامید و سولپیرید از آگونیستهای این گیرنده هستند.
