Georgina Theodora Wood JSC OSG (née Lutterodt; dem born am 8 June 1947) be Ghanaian judge wey she san be former police prosecution officer. Na she be de Chief Justice of Ghana den first woman wey occupy dat position.[1][2] She retire for 2017 insyd after five decades of service give de state. She be member of de Council of State.

Dem born Georgina Lutterodt for 8 June 1947 for Ghana insyd.[3] She get ein basic education for Bishop's Girls den Methodist Schools, Dodowa. She next attend Mmofraturo Girls School, Kumasi between 1958 den 1960. Wood ein secondary education be for Wesley Girls' High School, Cape Coast, wey she plete for 1996 insyd. She proceed go de University of Ghana, Legon, wey dem award am de LL.B. for 1970 insyd.[3] Wood then attend de Ghana School of Law after which dem bell am go de bar. She sanso do Post-Graduate Officers Training Course for de Ghana Police College.[3]

Wood job plus de Ghana Police Service as deputy superintendent den public prosecutor for three years.[3] Later she join de Judicial Service as District Magistrate for 1974 insyd. She rise thru de Circuit den High Courts wey she cam turn de presiding judge for de Appeal Court for 1991 insyd.[3] Presido John Kufuor appoint am go de Supreme Court for 12 November 2002,[4] appointment wey she decline earlier.[3]

Na e sanso go investigate alleged 200,000 dollars bribe sam lady wey dey link to Venezuelan drug baron bia to senior police officers,[5] den 588 kg of cocaine dem sanso seize for Mempeasem, East Legon from de Venezuelans.[4]

Chief Justice of Ghana

Dem nominate am for de position of Chief Justice for Ghana for May 2007 insyd.[4] For 1 June 2007, de Parliament of Ghana approve ein nomination as de fresh Chief Justice for Ghana by consensus.[6]

For 20 June 2017, Presido Nana Akuffo-Addo swear Wood as de 25th den final member for de Council of State.[7] She dey de council top by virtue for de fact say she be former Chief Justice.[7] Ebe de first tym for 22 years insyd wey dem fill de vacancy as Ghana no get living retired Chief Justice since 1995.[7]
