Matthew Opoku Prempeh (born 23 May 1968) be Ghanaian medical doctor den politician. He be de vice presidential candidate of de New Patriotic Party for de 2024 Presidential den Parliamentary elections.[1] Na he be de Member of Parliament for de Manhyia South Constituency insyd de Ashanti Region of Ghana. He be former Minister of Education.[2] Dem popularly know am as NAPO, an acronym for ein traditional name, Nana Poku.[3][4][5] Na he serve as de Minister of Energy from 2021 to 2024.[6][7][8][9]

Dem born Matthew Opoku Prempeh for 23 May 1968 insyd Ashanti New Town, suburb of Kumasi, wey he dey hail from Pakyi No. 2 insyd de Ashanti Region.[10] Born to Oheneba Kwame Kyeretwie den Madam Elizabeth Akosua Nyarko, na NAPO ein poppie be one of de chaw sons of de 14th Asantehene, Otumfuo Agyemang Prempeh II.[11]

He start ein basic education at KNUST Primary wey he continue go Prempeh College insyd Kumasi, Ashanti Region of Ghana, for ein middle school education.[12]

He study Human Biology den Medicine at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) wey he plete ein MB CHB insyd 1994. He continue plus post-graduate studies insyd MSc. Clinical Epidemiology at de Netherlands Institute of Health Sciences insyd 1998[13] den at de Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University wer na he study Leadership den Government(certificate course).[14][15] Insyd 2002, he pursue postgraduate training insyd surgery isydn de UK (MRCS).

Prior to make he enter parliament, Prempeh serve as CEO of Keyedmap Security Services Limited from 2004 to 2009.[10] He sanso be medical doctor[16] wey he serve as a member of de Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of the United Kingdom from 1999 to 2003.[10]
