An haife shi a Jihar Enugu, Najeriya kuma ya sami digiri na farko a fannin kimiyyar lissafi a Jami'ar St John, New York Amurka.[1] Daga nan ya wuce Kwalejin Kimiyya da Fasaha ta Virginia da Jami'ar Jiha don yin digirinsa na biyu da PhD a fannin Injiniyanci. Har ila yau, ya sami takardar shaidar digiri a cikin Artificial Intelligence da Robotics daga Massachusetts Institute of Technology, (MIT).

A shekarar 1993 Nnaji ya samu hutu daga Jami’ar sannan ya dawo Najeriya ya zama Ministan Kimiyya da Fasaha na Tarayya.[1] Ya kafa Geometric Power Limited, kamfanin samar da wutar lantarki na farko a Najeriya a shekarar 2000.[6] A shekarar 2010 ya taɓa zama mai ba shugaban ƙasa shawara na musamman kan harkokin mulki, kuma shugaban kwamitin shugaban ƙasa kan harkokin mulki.[7] Ya zama ministan wutar lantarki a Najeriya a shekarar 2011, kuma ya yi murabus a watan Agustan 2012.[8]

Nnaji ƙwararren masanin fasaha ne. Sai dai sau da yawa ya yi kuskure a Dr. Iheanyichukwu Godswill Nnaji daga jihar Imo ta Najeriya wanda ya tsaya takarar shugaban ƙasa a shekarar 2007, karkashin jam'iyyar Better Nigeria Progressive Party (BNPP).[9]

Ministan wutar lantarki na Najeriya

A ranar 28 ga watan Agusta, 2012, Barth Nnaji ya yi murabus a matsayin ministan wutar lantarki na Najeriya.[10][11][12][13] Kafin ya amince ya yi wa al’ummarsa hidima a matsayin Ministan Wutar Lantarki, Farfesa Nnaji ya dawo daga Amurka a karkashin Shugaban ƙasa. Gwamnatin Obasanjo tare da bunƙasa aikin samar da wutar lantarki na Aba IPP (Aba IPP) bisa yarjejeniyar hayar da gwamnatin tarayyar Najeriya (FGN). Gwamnatin Obasanjo ta kaddamar da sake fasalin ɓangaren wutar lantarki ne a shekarar 2004, wanda ya kai ga mayar da ɓangaren kamfanoni a shekarar 2011, ƙarƙashin Shugaba Goodluck Jonathan.[14][15] Sai dai kuma saboda dalilai na siyasa, gwamnati ta yi watsi da sharudɗan yarjejeniyar ta hanyar rashin bayar da katanga ga masu aikin samar da wutar lantarki a lokacin da kamfanonin samar da wutar lantarki suka mayar da kamfanoni mallakar gwamnati a wani yunkuri na kawo ƙarshen matsalar ƙarancin wutar lantarki a Najeriya. A lokacin da Farfesa Bart Nnaji ya yi murabus daga muƙaminsa a shekarar 2012, mujallar Economist a cikin labarinta mai suna "A Bright Spark is Extinguished" ta bayyana cewa magoya bayan Mista Nnaji sun ce masu adawa da mayar da hannun jarin nasa cikin jinkiri da rashin adalci sun kitsa tafiyar. “Nnaji shine ya fi dacewa da aikin,” in ji mai ba da shawara a kwamitin shugaban ƙasa kan sake fasalin mulki.
