कुड़ी-मार [ 1] पंजाबी वाक्यांश है जिसका शाब्दिक अर्थ है "कन्याओँ का हत्यारा" ।[ 2] [ 3] [ 4] सिख रहत मर्यादा सहित विभिन्न रहत-नामाओं के तहत यह प्रथा प्रतिबंधित है।[ 5] [ 6] गुरु गोबिन्द सिंह ने स्वयं इस प्रथा पर प्रतिबंध लगाया था।[ 7] [ 8] [ 9] सिख रहत मर्यादा के अनुसार भी इस प्रथा पर सख़्त मनाही है।[ 10]
आज, इस शब्द का एक अर्थ कन्या भ्रूण हत्या भी है, और इसका प्रयोग भारत के उत्तर-पश्चिमी क्षेत्रों के संदर्भ में किया जाता है, जिसने उस क्षेत्र के लिंगानुपात को बिगाड़ दिया है।
