Dapishul is an early Pomo settlement in Mendocino County, California, [1] one of several Pomo settlements listed by Stephen Powers. [2] Located in Redwood Valley; specifically located near the Mariposa River and the Russian River on the east side of the flood plain. [1] In the Pomo language, "dapishul" means "high sun", referring to the quiet place shaded by the canyon walls, and the sun is only visible when it is high in the sky.
