Kjarrsveifa[2] (fræðiheiti: Syrphus ribesii[3]) finnst helst á láglendi á Íslandi og er áberandi með gulan og svartan lit áþekkt geitungum og býflugum. Lirfurnar éta blaðlýs, en flugurnar nærast á blómasafa og frjókornum. Hún líkist mjög skyldri tegund: blómsveifu (Syrphus torvus).[4][5][6]
