GMPシンターゼ(GMP synthase, GMPS)はGMPの合成に関わる酵素である^[1]。以下の2つの化学反応を触媒する。

• L-グルタミン + H₂O ${\displaystyle \rightleftharpoons }$ L-グルタミン酸 + NH₃
• ATP + XMP + NH₃ ${\displaystyle \rightleftharpoons }$ AMP + 二リン酸 + GMP
