ガブリエル・アーモンド

ガブリエル・アーモンド（Gabriel Abraham Almond、1911年1月12日 - 2002年12月25日）は、アメリカ合衆国の政治学者。専門は、政治発展論、比較政治学。スタンフォード大学名誉教授。

経歴

イリノイ州のウクライナ系移民の家庭に生まれる。シカゴ大学でチャールズ・メリアムやハロルド・ラズウェルの下で学び、1938年にニューヨーク市のエリート層に関する研究で博士号取得。ブルックリン大学、イェール大学、プリンストン大学で教鞭をとり、1963年からスタンフォード大学教授。また、東京大学やキエフ大学（ウクライナ）などで客員教授を務めた。1965年から1966年までアメリカ政治学会会長を務め、1981年にはアメリカ政治学会ジェームズ・マディスン賞を受賞。

シドニー・ヴァーバとの共著『現代市民の政治文化』において、臣民型・参加型・未文化型という有名な政治システム類型を提示した。
