ロックフォードの事件メモ

『ロックフォードの事件メモ』（原題：The Rockford Files）は、1974年から1980年まで6シーズンにわたり、アメリカNBCで放映された、ジェームズ・ガーナー演ずる私立探偵ロックフォードを主人公としたテレビドラマ。

1994年から続編のスペシャル版が制作されている（後述）。

日本での放送

1975年から1980年にかけて、テレビ朝日系土曜23時枠の『セイコーホームシアター"S"』（服部時計店<現：セイコーグループ>一社提供枠）で放映

初め『ロックフォード氏の事件メモ』（（ろっくふぉーどしのじけんめも）のタイトルだったが、1976年の第2シリーズから『ロックフォードの事件メモ』に改題された。

内容

無実の罪で5年間、カリフォルニア州サン・クエンティン刑務所で服役生活を送ったジム･ロックフォードは、出所後その体験を生かし、私立探偵となる。彼の自宅兼事務所は、マリブ・ビーチに停めたトレーラーハウス。愛車は、ゴールドのポンティアック・ファイヤーバード。探偵料金は、1日200ドル+必要経費である。ロサンゼルス市警察のデニス・ベッカー刑事はロックフォードの理解者だが、その上司チャップマン警部補は、彼を目のかたきにしている。その他、引退したトラック運転手の父親ジョゼフ、女性弁護士のベス・ダベンポート、刑務所仲間のエンジェルらの協力を得ながら、ロックフォードは、警察が介入し難い事件を中心に調査活動を続ける。

受賞

ロックフォードを演じたジェームズ・ガーナーは、映画『大脱走』の出演でも知られ、テレビでは1957年から放送された西部劇『マーベリック』などでも主役を演じている。二枚目半の少しとぼけた役どころが多く、本作でもそれが生かされており、1977年にエミー賞の主演男優賞を受賞した。同賞ではエンジェル役のスチュワート・マーゴリンも、1979年に助演男優賞を受賞している。
