디플로미스테스과(Diplomystidae)는 메기목에 속하는 조기어류과의 하나이다.^[1] 남아메리카 남부 지역의 아르헨티나와 칠레의 민물에서 서식하는 메기류이다. 현재, 2개 속에 6종으로 이루어져 있다.

특징

잘 발달한 상악골(maxilla) 이빨을 가진 유일하게 현존하는 메기목 어류이다.^[2]
