Lucinidae sunt familia molluscorum bivalvium marinorum, endosymbiosi cum bacteriis sulphidum-oxidizantibus? facta notorum.[1]
Membra huius familiae in arena vel glarea limosa in vel sub aequo aestus humilis habitant. Eis sunt proprie rotundae testae cum prominentibus. Valvae sunt applanatae, circulis concentricis scalptae. Cuique valvae sunt duo dentes cardinales et duo laminiformes dentes laterales. His molluscis non sunt siphonae.[2]
