ഓസ്‌ട്രേലിയൻ എഴുത്തുകാരിയായിരുന്നു മേരി എലിസ ഫുള്ളർട്ടൺ (ജീവിതകാലം,14 മെയ് 1868 - ഫെബ്രുവരി 23, 1946).

ആദ്യകാലജീവിതം

1868 മെയ് 14 ന് വിക്ടോറിയയിലെ ഗ്ലെൻമാഗിയിലാണ് ഫുള്ളർട്ടൺ ജനിച്ചത്.[1] സ്‌കൂൾ വിട്ടിറങ്ങിയ ശേഷം ഇരുപതുകളുടെ തുടക്കത്തിൽ മെൽബണിലേക്ക് മാറുന്നതുവരെ അവർ മാതാപിതാക്കളുടെ സ്വത്തിൽ താമസിച്ചു. ഒന്നാം ലോകമഹായുദ്ധസമയത്ത് ഫെമിനിസ്റ്റ് പ്രശ്നങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും വിക്ടോറിയൻ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരണങ്ങൾ നിർബന്ധിതമാക്കുന്നതിനെതിരെയും അവർ ലേഖനങ്ങൾ എഴുതി. വിക്ടോറിയൻ സോഷ്യലിസ്റ്റ് പാർട്ടിയിലും വിമൻസ് പൊളിറ്റിക്കൽ അസോസിയേഷനിലും അംഗമായിരുന്നു അവർ.[2][1]

1912-ൽ അവർ ഇംഗ്ലണ്ട് സന്ദർശിക്കുകയും 1922-ൽ തന്റെ കൂട്ടാളിയായ മാബെൽ സിംഗിൾട്ടണിനൊപ്പം അവിടേക്ക് താമസം മാറ്റുകയും ചെയ്തു.[2][3]

1946 ഫെബ്രുവരി 23-ന് ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിലെ മാരേസ്ഫീൽഡിൽ വെച്ച് ഫുള്ളർട്ടൺ അന്തരിച്ചു.[2]

സാഹിത്യ ജീവിതം

മാസികകൾക്കും ആനുകാലികങ്ങൾക്കും വേണ്ടി അവൾ കഥകളും ലേഖനങ്ങളും വാക്യങ്ങളും എഴുതി. ചിലപ്പോൾ അൽപെൻസ്റ്റോക്ക് എന്ന ഓമനപ്പേരിൽ. 1921 നും 1925 നും ഇടയിൽ അവൾ സ്വന്തം പേരിൽ മൂന്ന് നോവലുകൾ എഴുതി. എന്നാൽ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം ഇല്ലാത്ത ഒരു സ്ത്രീ എന്ന നിലയിൽ അവളോടുള്ള മുൻവിധി ഭയന്ന് അവരുടെ അവസാനത്തെ രണ്ട് കൃതികൾ കാവ്യമായി Moles do so little with their privacy and The wonder and the apple E എന്ന ഓമനപ്പേരിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചു. അവരുടെ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരണം അവളുടെ സുഹൃത്ത് മൈൽസ് ഫ്രാങ്ക്ലിൻ ക്രമീകരിച്ചതാണ്. അവരുടെ രചയിതാവ് എന്ന അവരുടെ വ്യക്തിത്വം അവരുടെ മരണശേഷം വെളിപ്പെട്ടു.[3]
