പ്രധാനമായും മലയാളം, തമിഴ് എന്നീ ഭാഷകളിൽ അഭിനയിച്ചിരുന്ന ഒരു തെന്നിന്ത്യൻ ചലച്ചിത്ര നടിയായിരുന്നു സുകുമാരി (1940 ഒക്ടോബർ 6-- 2013 മാർച്ച് 26). ചലച്ചിത്ര രംഗത്ത്, 60 വർഷത്തിലേറെ അഭിനയിച്ച അപൂർവ്വം ചില അഭിനേത്രികളിൽ ഒരാളായിരുന്നു അവർ.[1]. പത്താമത്തെ വയസ്സു മുതൽ സുകുമാരി സിനിമയിൽ അഭിനയിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി. തെന്നിന്ത്യൻ ഭാഷകളിൽ 2000-ത്തിലധികം ചിത്രങ്ങളിൽ അഭിനയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ചലച്ചിത്രങ്ങൾ കൂടാതെ നാടകങ്ങളിലും ടെലിവിഷൻ സീരിയലുകളിലും അഭിനയിച്ചിരുന്ന സുകുമാരിക്ക് രാഷ്ട്രപതിയിൽ നിന്ന് പത്മശ്രീ പുരസ്കാരവും ഒട്ടേറെ സംസ്ഥാന പുരസ്കാരങ്ങളും ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. 2013 മാർച്ച് 26 ന്, ഹൃദയാഘാതത്തെ തുടർന്ന് എഴുപത്തി രണ്ടാമത്തെ വയസ്സിൽ ചെന്നൈയിലെ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ വെച്ച് അന്തരിച്ചു.

ജീവ ചരിത്രം
[തിരുത്തുക]1940 ഒക്ടോബർ 6-ന് തമിഴ് നാട് സംസ്ഥാനത്തിലെ നാഗർകോവിൽ എന്ന സ്ഥലത്ത് മാധവൻ നായരുടേയും സത്യഭാമയുടേയും മകളായാണ് സുകുമാരി ജനിച്ചത്. തിരുവിതാംകൂർ സഹോദരിമാരെന്ന് ഖ്യാതി നേടിയ ലളിത, പദ്മിനി , രാഗിണിമാരുടെ അടുത്ത ബന്ധുവായ സുകുമാരി ഭരതനാട്യവും കഥകളിയും കേരള നടനവും ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള നൃത്തരൂപങ്ങളിൽ ബാല്യത്തിൽ തന്നെ പ്രാവീണ്യം നേടി. ആദ്യം നൃത്തം പഠിച്ചത് ഗുരു ഗോപിനാഥിന്റെ കീഴിൽ ആയിരുന്നു [5] സംഗീതത്തിലും തൽപരയായിരുന്നു. ഏഴാം വയസ്സു മുതൽ തിരുവിതാംകൂർ സഹോദരിമാരുടെ ഡൈൻസേഴ്സ് ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യ എന്ന ട്രൂപ്പിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി ഇന്ത്യയിലുടനീളവും സിലോൺ, സിംഗപ്പൂർ, മലേഷ്യ തുടങ്ങിയ വിദേശ രാജ്യങ്ങളിലും നൃത്ത പരിപാടികൾ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു. പിന്നീട് നടിമാരായ രാജസുലോചനയുടെയും കുശല കുമാരിയുടെയും ട്രൂപ്പുകളിൽ അംഗമായി. നൃത്തവേദികളിലെ പ്രകടനം കണ്ടാണ് സംവിധായകൻ പി. നീലകണ്ഠൻ ഒരറിവ് എന്ന ചിത്രത്തിലേക്ക് ക്ഷണിക്കുന്നത്. ഇക്കാലത്ത് ജി.വൈ. പാർത്ഥസാരഥിയുടെ നാടകങ്ങളിൽ രാഗിണിയുടെ കൂടെ ചെറിയ വേഷങ്ങൾ ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. പിന്നീട് ആ നാടക ബന്ധം ചോ രാമസ്വാമിയുടെ നാടകങ്ങളിലേക്ക് സുകുമാരിക്ക് അവസരം തുറന്നു. ചെറുപ്പത്തിൽ തന്നെ മുതിർന്ന കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളെ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചാണ് സുകുമാരി ശ്രദ്ധ നേടിയത്. തമിഴിൽ എം.ജി.ആർ, ജയലളിത, ശിവാജി ഗണേശൻ എന്നിവരോടൊപ്പവും തെലുങ്കിൽ എൻ.ടി. ആറിനൊപ്പവും നിരവധി സിനിമകളിൽ വേഷമിട്ടു.
പത്താമത്തെ വയസ്സിൽ ഒരിരവ് എന്ന തമിഴ് ചലച്ചിത്രത്തിലൂടെയാണ് സുകുമാരി അഭിനയ ലോകത്ത് അരങ്ങേറ്റം കുറിച്ചത്[6].[5]. ദീർഘമായ നൃത്തരംഗത്താണ് ഈ സിനിമയിൽ അവർ പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെട്ടത്. 1957 ൽ ആറു ഭാഷകളിൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ തസ്കര വീരനിലാണ് സുകുമാരി ആദ്യമായി ശ്രദ്ധേയ കഥാപാത്രത്തെ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചത്. ഇതേ വർഷം തന്നെ മലയാള സിനിമയായ കൂടപിറപ്പിലും അഭിനയിച്ചു. ആദ്യകാല ബ്ലാക് & വൈറ്റ് ചിത്രങ്ങളിലും പിന്നീട് പുതിയ ചിത്രങ്ങളായ ചേട്ടത്തി, കുസൃതി കുട്ടൻ, കുഞ്ഞാലി മരക്കാർ, തച്ചോളി ഒതേനൻ, യക്ഷി, കരിനിഴൽ എന്നിവയിലെയും അഭിനയം ശ്രദ്ധേയമായി. പിൽക്കാലത്ത് പ്രിയദർശന്റെ ചിത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഹാസ്യ വേഷങ്ങളും ചെയ്ത് വളരെ ശ്രദ്ധേയയായി. പൂച്ചക്കൊരു മൂക്കുത്തി, ഓടരുതമ്മാവാ ആളറിയാം, ബോയിംഗ് ബോയിംഗ്, വന്ദനം തുടങ്ങിയ ചിത്രങ്ങളിലെ അഭിനയും വളരെ മികവുറ്റതായിരുനു. അക്കാലത്ത് ബാലചന്ദ്ര മേനോൻ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത ചിത്രങ്ങളിലും[5]. അടൂർ ഗോപാലകൃഷ്ണൻ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത ചിത്രങ്ങളിലും സുകുമാരി ശ്രദ്ധേയയായി.[7].
സ്വകാര്യ ജീവിതം
[തിരുത്തുക]പ്രശസ്ത മലയാളം - തമിഴ് - ഹിന്ദി ചലച്ചിത്ര സംവിധായകനും തിരക്കഥാകൃത്തും ചിത്ര സംയോജകനും നിർമ്മാതാവുമായിരുന്ന എ. ഭീംസിംഗ് ആയിരുന്നു സുകുമാരിയുടെ ഭർത്താവ്. 1978 ജനുവരി 16നു അവരുടെ ഭർത്താവ് മരിച്ചു.[8] നടനും ഡോക്ടറുമായ സുരേഷാണ് ഏക മകൻ. മരുമകൾ ഉമ. വിഘ്നേശ് പേരക്കുട്ടി. നാലു സഹോദരന്മാരും ഒരു സഹോദരിയുമുണ്ട്[9].
മരണം
[തിരുത്തുക]2013 ഫെബ്രുവരി 27 ന് ചെന്നൈയിലെ സ്വവസതിയിലെ പൂജാ മുറിയിൽ നിലവിളക്ക് കൊളുത്താൻ ശ്രമിക്കുമ്പോൾ പടർന്നു പിടിച്ച തീയിൽ സുകുമാരിയുടെ കൈകളിലും ശരീരത്തിലും പൊള്ളലേറ്റിരുന്നു.[9] ചെന്നൈയിലെ ഗ്ലോബൽ ആശുപത്രിയിലാണ് ചികിത്സയ്ക്കായി പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചത്. ശരീരത്തിൽ 40 ശതമാനത്തോളം പൊള്ളലുണ്ടായിരുന്നുവെങ്കിലും സുകുമാരി അപകടനില തരണം ചെയ്തിരുന്നതായി ആശുപത്രിയിലെ ഡോക്ടർമാർ അവകാശപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. എന്നാൽ വൃക്കകൾ തകരാറിലായി ഡയാലിസിസ് ചെയ്യേണ്ടി വന്നു. ഒടുവിൽ 2013 മാർച്ച് 26ന് ഹൃദയാഘാതം മൂലം മരണം സംഭവിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. മുൻപ് ഹൃദയ ശസ്ത്രക്രിയയ്ക്ക് വിധേയയായിട്ടുണ്ട്[9]. പ്രമേഹം, രക്താതിമർദ്ദം എന്നീ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടുകളും അവർക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
ചെന്നൈയിൽ ചികിത്സയിൽ കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ തമിഴ്നാട് മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ജയലളിത സുകുമാരിയെ സന്ദർശിച്ചിരുന്നു[10]. സുകുമാരിയുടെ എല്ലാ ചികിത്സാച്ചെലവുകളും തമിഴ്നാട് സർക്കാർ കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യുമെന്ന് ജയലളിത പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.
