Biografi

Merupakan anak lelakimAlbert dan Frances Blackwell,^[1] beliau menerima didikan pertama kali di Latymer Upper School,^[1] dan sebagai Peserta Pameran Junior di The Royal Academy of Music^[1] di London, dan kemudian tamat belajar dari Trinity College, Cambridge dengan ijazah seni dalam sains semulajadi pada tahun 1973.^[1] Beliau kemudian melanjutkan pelajaran ke Wharton Business School di Universiti Pennsylvania di mana beliau lulus dengan Pentadbiran Perniagaan pada tahun 1975,^[1] dan kemudian pada tahun 1976 dengan ijazah doktor falsafah^[1] di bidang keuangan dan ekonomi.^[2]
