Leonard J. Shustek er formann for tillitsvalgte ved Computer History Museum i Mountain View i California.[3] Han tok sin filosofiske doktorgrad ved Stanford University, og ble hjelpeprofessor ved Carnegie Mellon University. I 1979 grunnla han Nestar Systems,[4][5] og i 1986 grunnla han Network General.[6] I 2003 donerte han 2,5 millioner USD til «Leonard J. Shustek Distinguished Professor of Computer Science Chair» ved New York University Tandon School of Engineering.[7][8] Han underviste også i informatikk ved Stanford University.[9]
