Megascelis er en slekt av biller som tilhører familiegruppen bladbiller (Chrysomelidae).
Utseende
[rediger | rediger kilde]Små til middelsstore, avlange, blanke bladbiller, gjerne rødlige med kobberaktig glans. Hodet er stort og bredt med utstående fasettøyne, mye bredere enn pronotum som er tønneformet.
Levevis
[rediger | rediger kilde]Både larvene og de voksne (imago) er planteetere, knyttet til planter i erteblomstfamilien eller til sørbøk (Nothofagus).
Utbredelse
[rediger | rediger kilde]Gruppen er utbredt i den neotropiske økosonen, én art går nord til det sørlige USA.
