ଦେଓରୀ ଭାଷା (ଦେଉରୀ ଭାଷା ଭାବରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଜଣାଶୁଣା) ଏକ ତିବ୍ଦତୀୟ-ବର୍ମନ ଭାଷା ଅଟେ । ଏହା ଆସାମ ଓ ଅରୁଣାଚଳ ପ୍ରଦେଶର ଦେଓରୀ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କଦ୍ୱାରା କଥିତ ତିବେତୋ-ବର୍ମନ ଭାଷା ପରିବାରରେ ଅଛି ।[୨] ଦେଓରୀ ମଧ୍ୟ ବୋଡ଼ୋ-କାଚରୀ ଲୋକଙ୍କର ଏକ ଅଂଶ । ଚାରୋଟି କ୍ଷେତ୍ରୀୟ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କେବଳ ଦିବଙ୍ଗିଆମାନେ ଏହି ଭାଷାକୁ ବଜାୟ ରଖିଛନ୍ତି । ଅନ୍ୟମାନେ ପାଟୋରଗୋୟାନ୍, ତେଙ୍ଗାପୋନିଆ ଓ ବୋର୍ଗୋୟାନ୍ ଆସାମୀକୁ ସ୍ଥାନାନ୍ତରିତ ହୋଇଛନ୍ତି । ଏହା ଅରୁଣାଚଳ ପ୍ରଦେଶର ଲୋହିତ ଜିଲ୍ଲାରେ ଓ ଆସାମର ଲକ୍ଷ୍ମୀପୁର, ଧେମାଜୀ, ତିନସୁକିଆ, ଶିବସାଗର ଓ ଜୋରହାଟ ଜିଲ୍ଲାରେ ଏକ କଥିତ ଭାଷା ଅଟେ । ଦେଓରୀର ପ୍ରାଥମିକ ସାହିତ୍ୟିକ ଅନୁଷ୍ଠାନ "ଦେଓରୀ ଚୁଚେବା ଚେଙ୍ଗଚା" (ଦେଓରୀ ସାହିତ୍ୟ ସଭା) ନାମରେ ପରିଚିତ ।

ଔପନିବେଶିକ କାଳରେ ଏହି ଭାଷା ଭୁଲବଶତଃ ଚୁଟିଆ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଜଡ଼ିତ ହେଲା[୩] ଏବଂ ଭାରତୀୟ ଭାଷାଭିତ୍ତିକ ସର୍ବେକ୍ଷଣରେ "ଚୁଟିଆ ଭାଷା" ଭାବରେ ପରିଚିତ ହେଲା ।[୪] ଆଧୁନିକ ବିଦ୍ୟାରେ ଦେଓରୀ ଭାଷାକୁ ଚୁଟିଆ ସମ୍ପ୍ରଦାୟ ସହିତ ଯୋଡ଼ା ଯାଇନାହିଁ ।[୫] ଦେଓରୀ ଭାଷା ହେଉଛି ସବୁଠାରୁ ପ୍ରଭାବଶାଳୀ ଭାଷା ଯାହା ଉପର ଆସାମରେ ଅହମିୟା ଭାଷାର ବିକାଶରେ ସାହାଯ୍ୟ କରିଛି ।

ତେବେ ଦେଓରୀ ଯେଉଁ ଚୀନ-ତିବ୍ଦତୀୟ ଅଞ୍ଚଳର ସାଲ ଶାଖାର ଅନ୍ତର୍ଭୁକ୍ତ, ସେହି ଅଞ୍ଚଳର ଅନ୍ୟାନ୍ୟ ଭାଷାରେ ଜଳ ଶବ୍ଦର ସମାନ ରୂପ ରହିଛି, ତେଣୁ ଏହା ନିର୍ଣ୍ଣାୟକ ପ୍ରମାଣ ନୁହେଁ ଯେ ଦେଓରୀ ଭାଷୀମାନେ ପ୍ରଥମେ ଏହି ଅଞ୍ଚଳ ଦଖଲ କରିଥିଲେ ।[୬]
