ਅਕੂਲਾ ਬਰਲਸ ਕਿਆਨੀ (1921-30 ਮਾਰਚ 2012) ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਕੂਲਾ ਕਿਆਨੀ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹਸਮਾਜ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਕਾਰਜ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੀ।[1][2][3][4] ਉਸ ਦਾ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਨਮ ਹੋਇਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ, ਯੂਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ।[4] ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਰਾਚੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾਜ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਚੇਅਰਮੈਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ।

ਅਕੂਲਾ ਕਿਆਨੀ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ, ਮਿਰਜ਼ਾ ਸ਼ਾਕਿਰ ਹੁਸੈਨ ਬਾਰਲਸ, ਇੱਕ ਬੈਰਿਸਟਰ, ਨਵਾਬ ਕਾਸਿਮ ਜਾਨ ਦੇ ਵੰਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸਨ, ਜੋ ਮੁਗਲ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਦਰਬਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਦਰਬਾਰੀ ਸਨ।[5][6] ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ, ਬੀਬੀ ਮਹਿਮੂਦਾ ਬੇਗਮ, ਨਵਾਬ ਅਮਜਦ ਅਲੀ ਸ਼ਾਹ, ਸਰਧਨਾ ਦੇ ਆਖਰੀ ਨਵਾਬ (ਨੋਬਲ) ਦੀ ਧੀ ਸੀ।[6]

ਬੀਬੀ ਮਹਿਮੂਦਾ ਬੇਗਮ ਇੱਕ ਭਾਰਤੀ-ਅਫਗਾਨ ਲੇਖਕ ਅਤੇ ਡਿਪਲੋਮੈਟ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਇਕਬਾਲ ਅਲੀ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੀ ਭੈਣ ਵੀ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਅਫ਼ਗਾਨ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਲੀਨ, ਜਾਨ-ਫਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਖਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਦਾਤ (ਕਾਬੁਲ, ਅਫ਼ਗਾਨਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਨੇਡ਼ੇ ਪੈਗਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਇਸਲਾਮੀ ਨਬੀ ਮੁਹੰਮਦ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ) ਤੋਂ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।[7][8][9]

ਕਿਆਨੀ ਨੇ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਬੱਚੇਃ ਖਾਲਿਦ, ਸੋਹੇਲ ਅਤੇ ਲੀਨਾ ਸਨ।[10] ਬਾਅਦ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਹ ਵੈਨਕੂਵਰ, ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਕੋਲੰਬੀਆ, ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਟਾਇਰਮੈਂਟ ਲੈ ਗਈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ 30 ਮਾਰਚ 2012 ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ।[4][1][10][11]
