ਲਕਸ਼ਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦ ਸਿਹਾਰੇ ਇੱਕ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਿਵਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ, ਕਿਊਰੇਟਰ, ਕਲਾ ਲੇਖਕ ਅਤੇ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਗੈਲਰੀ ਆਫ਼ ਮਾਡਰਨ ਆਰਟ (NGMA) ਦੇ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ-ਜਨਰਲ ਸਨ।^[1] ਇਹ ਉਸਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਦੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸੀ, ਅਜਾਇਬ ਘਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਔਗਸਟੇ ਰੋਡਿਨ 'ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਕਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।^[2]

ਸਿਹਾਰੇ 1984 ਵਿੱਚ NGMA (ਐਨ ਜੀ ਐਮ ਏ) ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ-ਜਨਰਲ ਵਜੋਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ।^[3] ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਯੋਗਦਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਸੀ, ਨਿਜ਼ਾਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਗਹਿਣਿਆਂ ਦੀ 1995 ਦੀ ਜਨਤਕ ਨਿਲਾਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਿਰ ਦਖਲ,^[4] ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੈਕਬ ਡਾਇਮੰਡ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸੀ, ਇੱਕ ਅਣਕੱਟਿਆ ਹੀਰਾ ਆਕਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਵੇਂ ਸਥਾਨ 'ਤੇ ਸੀ।^[5][6] ਉਸਨੇ 1979 ਵਿੱਚ ਅਦਾਲਤੀ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਖਰੀਦਦਾਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਗਹਿਣਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਲਾਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬੋਲੀਕਾਰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ।^[7] ਉਸਨੇ ਕਈ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਨੋਗ੍ਰਾਫ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤੇ,^[8] ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੈਸੀਲੀ ਕੈਂਡਿੰਸਕੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੀਟ ਮੋਂਡਰਿਅਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਓਰੀਐਂਟਲ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ : 1909-1917, ^[9] ਪਾਲ ਕਲੀ : ਸੱਠ ਤੇਲ ਚਿੱਤਰ, ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਰੰਗ, ਪੇਸਟਲ ਅਤੇ ਡਰਾਇੰਗ (1909-1939),^[10] ਤੇਲ ਚਿੱਤਰਕਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਬਹਾਲੀ : ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ^[11] ਅਤੇ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਕਲਾ।^[12] ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਉਸਨੂੰ 1987 ਵਿੱਚ ਪਦਮ ਭੂਸ਼ਣ, ਤੀਜੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਪੁਰਸਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।^[13]

ਲਕਸ਼ਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦ ਸਿਹਾਰੇ 1991 ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਸੇਵਾਮੁਕਤ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ 1993 ਵਿੱਚ ਅਕਾਲ ਚਲਾਣਾ ਕਰ ਗਏ।^[3]
