Мокрецы чёрные^[2] (лат. Leptoconops) — род мокрецов из подсемейства Leptoconopinae.

Внешнее строение

Блестяще-чёрные комары с молочно-белыми крыльями^[2]. Внешне напоминают мошек. Усики у самок короткие состоят из 13-14 члеников. У самцов усики длиннее, чем у самок, 15-члениковые, опушённые длинными волосками. Длина волосков к вершине усика уменьшается. На последнем членике щупиков находится чувствительный орган, лучше развитый у самок. Глаза широко расставлены у обоих полов в отличие от рода Culicoides Между радиальной и медиальной продольными жилками отсутствует поперечная жилка, но имеется дополнительная продольная жилка. Мембрана крыла без микротрихий^[3].

Биология

В период размножения самцы образуют небольшие рои на высоте до 1 м над травянистой растительностью, кустарниками или песчаными участками, роение происходит поздним утром или ранним вечером. Самки питаются кровью позвоночных, нападают днём на открытых местах^[4]. Личинки развиваются в влажной глинистой и песчаной почве, пресноводных или морских пляжах, в норах крабов, на окраинах солончаков^[5][6]. В трещинах почвы на глубине 40-50 см развиваются личинки Leptoconops torrens. При высыхании почвы они могут оставаться живыми в состояние покоя до трех лет^[5]

Классификация и распространение

Встречается во всех регионах^[6]. Род относится к подсемейству Leptoconopinae, к которому относится ещё 5 родов. В составе рода описано около 173 видов из них 19 известны ископаемом состоянии. Род разделён на 7 подродов^[7].
