The constituency includes the smawer Ladywood waird an the wairds o Aston, Nechells an Soho.[1] In Juin 2004, Birmingham Ceety Cooncil conductit a ceety-wide "Waird Bundary Reveesion" tae roond-up the thirty-nine Birmingham wairds tae fowerty. As a result o this, Ladywood's bundaries wur expandit tae include Birmingham Ceety Centre.[2][3]

The population density wis 3,330 fowk per km² livin athin its 7.1 km² bundary, compared wi 3,649 fowk per km² for Birmingham. Nearly hauf o the population o Ladywood (49%) consists o ethnic minorities compared wi 29.6% for Birmingham in general. The lairgest ethnic minority groups are Afro-Caribbean at 13.18%, Indie at 11.65%, Pakistani at 10.64% an Mixed Race at 5.52%.[4][5]
