The Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway (Welsh: Rheilffordd Pont-y-pŵl a Blaenafon) is a 2 mile (3.2 km) volunteer-run heritage railwey in Sooth Wales, runnin trains atween a halt platform opposite the Whistle Inn public hoose (famed for its collection o miners' lamps) soothwards tae the toon o Blaenavon via a two-platform station at the site o former colliery furnace o the Big Pit National Coal Museum. The line is the highest preserved staundart gauge line in the Unitit Kinrick,[1] and is also unique in havin the only staundart gauge rail-over-rail bridge within preservation.[2]
