Santiago Jocotepec is a municipality in Oaxaca in sooth-wastren Mexico. It is pairt o the Choapam Destrict o the Papaloapan Region.[1]

The municipality wis established on 15 Mairch 1825. As o 2005, the municipality haed a total population o 12,423, o whom 7,173 spoke indigenous leids. The main touns are Monte Negro (population 1,876), Santiago Jocotepec, Rio Chiquito an San Antonio Las Palmas. The municipality covers a aurie o 732.32 km², an is on average 100 metres abuin sea level. The principal river is the Monte Negro.[1]
