dnaN je gen koji kodira DNK stegu (takođe poznatu kao β klizeća stega) DNK polimeraze III kod prokariota.[2][3] β stega fizički fiksira Pol III na DNK lanac tokom replikacije, čime doprinosi povećanju procesivnosti.[4] The eukaryotic equivalent to the β clamp is PCNA.
