The A836 is a main road that runs along the north coast of Scotland mostly in Caithness and Sutherland in the Highland Council Area. It runs from John O' Groats to Tongue along the coast before turning south towards Lairg. It ends when it reaches the A99 just west of Tain.[1] It was built in 1922. It is 122 miles (196 kilometres) long.[2]
