Alexander Giannoulias (/əˈlɛksi dʒəˈnuːliəs/ jə-NOO-lee-əs; born March 16, 1976) is an American financier and politician who is the Illinois Secretary of State. Giannoulias ran as the Democratic nominee for Secretary of State in 2022. He was the 72nd Illinois Treasurer from 2007 to 2011. He is a Democrat.
He was a candidate in the 2010 elections for the United States Senate, but lost to Republican Mark Kirk.
